The Pleiades / Matariki rise July 13-16 2020, marking the beginning of the Māori New Year in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Matariki is a shortened version of Ngā mata o te ariki o Tāwhirimātea, or ‘the eyes of the god of wind, Tāwhirimātea’. In the Māori language, Matariki is both the name of the Pleiades star cluster and also of the season of its first rising.

Anything can arise within space. Thoughts, feelings, and sensations are like birds flying in the sky, which don’t leave any trace of their flight. Let them fly. Let them come and go without a trace. Let yourself become the space that welcomes any experience without judgment. That is who you are, after all. ~Tosknyi Rinpoche
