And a series of three YouTube videos on Chichen Itza gives interesting high level background on the indigenous Mayan culture of the area. In addition to noting their prowess at engineering, astronomy and mathematics it suggests that the Mayans developed the concept of zero some hundreds of years ahead of the Arabs.
